An old but well maintained Fiat car in front of the Fiat Tagliero Service Station in Asmara. Designed by architect Giuseppe Pettazzi and built in 1938, its Futurist Design is in the dynamic form of an aeroplane. The city is a showcase of 1930s Italian Art Deco architecture that was initially brought to the region by colonial-era Italians, the style continued to flourish into the 1960s as local architects furthered the distinctive designs.
