An elderly Kondh man inside his hut in Ijurupa village that is only a few metres from the boundary wall of the Vedanta Alumina plant, in between land that has already bought by Vedanta. He and other villagers are refusing to sell their land at any cost, causing major obstruction to the expansion plans of Vedanta. The huge bauxite deposits in the Niyamgiri hills have led the Vedanta group to set up an alumina refinery at Lanjigarh, making the local population of Dongria Kondh tribespeople fearful for their future.
