Marvel (16), an unaccompanied migrant from Honduras, plays on his mobile phone after lunch in the unaccompanied minors bedrooms at La 72 shelter. His family paid a 'war tax', a fee that gangs force people to pay in order to avoid being attacked, but that left no money for his schooling or for the family's food. Their house was then set on fire and his older brother was killed after which they moved to their grandparent's home, which led Marvel to tell his parents he was going to flee the country.
