An Israeli army post outside the Cave of the Patriarchs (the Tomb of Abraham Mosque), an important religious site for Jews and Muslims who both trace their ancestory to Abraham. Hebron is a Palestinian city in the West Bank but a militant Jewish settler community also resides there and exerts pressure on the Palestinians to move out. Violent clashes have taken place between the two communities in and around the Tomb of Abraham.
