An aerial view of the first stage of an ambitious scheme to reclaim an area of 9000 square metres from the ocean. A wall 1.4 kilometres out to sea has already been constructed and 95 million cubic metres of sand is being pumped into the area between the current ocean front and the new barrier in order to create a new city, Eko Atlantic. This development will contain residential, financial and commercial districts and up to 250,000 people will live there with a further 150,000 commuters arriving each day.
