Volunteers at a neighborhood church destribute mineral water to residents. Since 2014, when the acid waters of the Flint River began to be used to supply the city, there has been lead contamination due to the corrosion of the old piping. Even today most of the population depends on mineral water purchased or distributed free of charge for their consumption.
