Diver John O'Connor fixes a boat in Dingle, a small town on the west coast of Ireland and the home of the famed dolphin Fungi. O'Connor was one of the first people to swim with Fungi, a lone male bottlenose dolphin, after he was first observed escorting local fishing boats in 1984. Within months, Fungi had become such a fixture that local officials declared him a permanent resident. For more than 20 years, Fungi has stayed in the harbour befriending humans and becoming one of Ireland's top attractions. Every summer, the town's 3,000 inhabitants are overrun by tourists who have come to see the Dingle dolphin.
