A field treated with zinc fertilisers to determine the optimum  quantities to improve growing rates for chickpea and other pulse varieties. The experiment is being carried out by the University of Awassa to improve the quality of chickpeas, an important cash crop and source of protein. However, varieties currently grown in Ethiopia typically provide low yields, contain inadequate levels of protein and have limited capacity to improve the soil.
