A grieving mother shows the school pass of her child, who died when his elementary school collapsed in Wufu. Over 200 students, all aged 10-13, and overwhelmingly from single-child families, were crushed when the building collapsed, yet most of the other buildings in Wufu sustained only minor damage. This has led angry and distraught parents to blame poor construction for the deaths of their children. The recent Sichuan earthquake of 12/05/2008 measured 8.0 on the Richter scale.
