The town of Boston had the country's highest proportion of 'leave' votes cast in the EU referendum with almost 76 percent of ballots cast for Brexit. Lincolnshire has, in recent years, seen an influx of EU workers drawn to the area's agricultural industry. The 2011 census found about 13 percent of Boston's residents were born in Eastern Europe and migrated to the UK since 2004.
