The Serbian cemetery in Southern Mitrovica. Abandoned and overgrown since the war, with many of its gravestones vandalised, the cemetery and the nearby Orthodox Church are a reminder of the time before and during the 1999 war, when the south of the city was dominated by Serbs, and the North by Albanians. The demographic changed after the war, when the Serbian community took control of the North of the city as it gave them unhindered access to the border with Serbia.
