Khosro sometimes sleeps at a friends house in Leeds where all the windows have been covered so the neighbours don't know there are asylum seekers living there. Khosro has been destitute in the UK for eight years now, surviving by eating handouts form charities. "I am nothing in this country. I was in prison in Iran and I'm in a different prison here. If the regime in Iran changes I'll be the first one on the plane home. Right now I belong nowhere but I have to survive and I must survive. I comfort myself by remembering that if I'd stayed in Iran I would probably have been hanged by now." Khosro is one of an estimated 300,000 rejected asylum seekers living in the UK. ..
