A portrait of Zilla Demauna. Zilla (born 1925) was 18 when Japanese forces deported many local villagers during the Pacific War of World War II (WW2). She stayed in the bush, ate bush food and stole pumpkins from the Japanese. She remembers that the beautiful Nauruan girls were ordered to 'take care' of the Japanese.
