Corpse of a dead cow in Mapou, a rural area near Gonaives. Three weeks after tropical storm Jeanne hit the north west of Haiti, some districts are still flooded. Over 2700 people were reported dead or missing. Farmers were severely hit by the flood, losing crops and cattle, but they are both victim and cause of the deluge. Haiti is particularly vulnerable to flooding after heavy rainfall due to intense deforestation.
