Gateway of the Rohtas Fort near Dina in Pakistan. This enormous fortification, its outer wall are three miles in circumference, was built by Sher Shah Suri as his main base to protect the Grand Trunk Road in the central Punjab. Sher Shah Suri was a sixteenth century Afghan ruler of northern India famous for laying out the route of the Grand Trunk Road that is still in use today.
