Sand slowly overwhelming an old abandoned house. Kolmanskop, an old diamond mining town 10 km outside Luderitz, is slowly being drowned by sand dunes from the surrounding desert. The diamond rich sand of southern Namibia at one stage attracted prospectors and companies to the area. The mining focus shifted further south to Orangemund and the last person left Kolmanskop in the mid 1950s, abandoning the settlement to the desert.
