Orthodox Jews from the organization Neturei Karta International gather near the United Nations in Manhattan to show their support for a resolution in the General Assembly to upgrade Palestine to a non-member observer state of the U.N. The resolution was passed by a vote of 138 countries in favour and nine opposed. This group of Orthodox Jews does not recognize the state of Israel and believes all of Israel and the West Bank should be a Palestinian State. Their interpretation of the Torah is that Jews must remain a people in exile until they are redeemed by God but that they can live in Palestine and co-exist in harmony with Palestinians as they did before the rise of the Zionist movement.
