Marta Gomez (right), 26, sells sandwiches and drinks to people waiting in line hoping to acquire a copy of their criminal records, a normal requirement for job applications in Guatemala. Some of the people arrived at four in the morning, three hours before the police station opens, and expect to be attended sometime before noon. Marta used to sell in the bus terminal, but since all public transport has been cancelled since 13 March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she spends her mornings in this area near the police station.
