Emma Kearns (28), who suffers from HER-2+ breast cancer, being treated with Herceptin (Trastuzumab) at the Royal Marsden Hospital. The drug is currently only licenced in the UK for women with advanced breast cancer, but research has suggested it could also benefit women in the early stages of the disease. Emma had to appeal to her MP after her NHS Primary Care Trust refused her the drug.
