A young Iraqi Christian refugee girl with a cross tattooed on her hand attends a course about domestic violence, children's education and an English class given by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the International Medical Corps at the Centre Social des Soeurs du Bon Pateur in Roueissat, East Beirut. Lebanon is host to an estimated 50,000 Iraqi refugees. Relative to their percent of the overall population, a large proportion of the Iraqi refugees in Lebanon are Christian. Many come to Lebanon because they feel they have better opportunities for work and resettlement than in neighbouring countries.
