Looking over to Old Dhaka - Old Dhaka is one of the most densely populated parts of Dhaka, in a city with over 12 million people, making Dhaka the 9th largest city in the world. River traffic on the Buriganga river which heavy polluted with chemical waste from factories, sewerage human waste. Dhaka city discharges about 4,500 tonnes of solid waste every day and most of it is released into the Buriganga. According to the Department of Environment (DoE), 20,000 tonnes of tannery waste are released into the river every day, which including some highly toxic materials.
