Lights illuminate the piers supporting the Sino-Korean Friendship Bridge that spans the Yalu River. It was originally built by the occupying Japanese and links the North Korean city of Sinuiju, on the far side, with the Chinese city of Dandong. Beside the bridge is a smaller one built in 1911. Both bridges were bombed by the Americans during the Korean War but only the Friendship Bridge was rebuilt, while the other bridge was left and became known as the 'Broken Bridge'. It has now been made accessiblefor tour groups on the Chinese side. /Felix Features
