A young couple, Juris and Christina, with their motorbike in front of a Russian Orthodox cathedral around the old navel base of Karosta. The base, built for the Russian army, includes Soviet housing blocks that were once home to 20,000 people. When the Russian army left Latvia in 1994, after the country became independent, Karosta became largely uninhabited and most of its structures were left to rot.
