Muzlema, a 5 year old girl undergoes one operation of many to repair the damage caused to her when she played with an anti-personnel mine. She is being treated at a medical facility run by Dutch and Australian troops affiliated to ISAF (International Security Assistance Force). Besides casualties from within the ISAF forces, the facility is also treating Afghan civilian patients, victims of conflict related incidents. Most patients are complicated cases referred from the local hospital in Tarin Kowt. ISAF is a peacekeeping mission affiliated to the United Nations (UN) and NATO.
