Ala'a Hikmat, 19, the only woman athlete competing for Iraq in the 2004 Olympic Games, talks to fellow athletes at the al Koshafa stadium in Baghdad. The facilities are appalling, weeds grow on the tracks, there is gunfire on the streets outside and Ala'a has to use a toilet to change. Regarding her Olympic hopes, Ala'a says she is not expecting a medal, just to break her personal best times in the 100 and 200 metres.
