42 year old Shofiqul Islam holds the shirt he was wearing when he was attacked by a tiger four months ago. Although he is still unable to work, on the day this photo was taken he again ventured into the jungle to collect honey. There is no other income source in this village. The region is home to approximately 500 Bengal tigers, one of the largest single populations of tigers in one area. These tigers are well-known for the substantial number of people they kill; estimates range from 50-250 people per year.
