A farmer walks his cattle to market. Due to a drought the animals are likely to die if they are kept any longer and so selling them is a better option. Ethiopia is experiencing its worst drought in over 50 years. The emergency started early in 2015 with the failure of the February-April 'Belg' rains and was further compounded by the main 'Kiremt' rain season (July-September) being erratic and poor, caused by an exceptional El Nino event.
