Migrant workers from surrounding villages dismantle a recently vacated building. Houses in towns along the Yangtze river are being demolished to make way for the Three Gorges Dam project, which will raise the water levels of the river and inundate lower-lying areas. The purpose of dismantling buildings in the city is to clear an area and to prevent relocated families from returning to their old houses.
