Migrant construction workers from Chu Xiong in central Yunnan building a bridge as part of the extension of the road along the Nujiang River to Tibet, a major government project hoping to bring tourism to the region. They arrived a few months ago and are here for two years to build three bridges. The workers are paid 200 Yuan (22.50 GBP) per day, but if it rains and they can't work, as it often does in the rainy season, they are not paid.
