A portrait of a 20 year old Yazidi woman who was captured by Islamic State (IS) on 3 August 2014 in Sinjar when IS fighters attached the city. She was beaten with sticks every day because she refused to convert to Islam. She was held captive for 4 months in various locations. One night she escaped with seven other women of whom two were captured again. She now lives in a small house with her family. Her 12 year old brother is still in IS captivity.
