Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, leader of the Niger Delta Peoples' Volunteer Force (NDPVF), argues with some of his men at the jetty in Tombia. Asari?s commanders are accusing him of ?eating money? (taking bribes) in Abuja, something which he adamantly denies. Asari's group are fighting for resource control and independence on behalf of the ethnic Ijaw population. The man on his T-shirt is Isaac Boro, the leader of a short-lived delta rebellion that was crushed by the military in the mid 1960s. Boro and most of his fjghters were killed, and Asari sees him as a role model.
