Gutbre Germain (32, sitting), a migrant from Burkina Faso, checks his phone while sitting in the doorway of the tiny single-bedroom apartment he lives in with 14 other African nationals who are all awaiting for a resolution of their migratory process. Gutbre lived in Brazil for four years but left when the economic situation worsened and started a three month journey to reach Mexico by land. They are just some of hundreds of migrants waiting for the Mexican authorities to allow them to continue with their journey north which stalled after Mexico stopped issuing transit visas following pressure from the US government.
