A cobbled section on the route of the Ronde van Vlaanderen (Tour of Flanders) cycle race. The initials VDB on the electricity pole refer to Frank Vandenbroucke, the great hope of Belgian cycling in the 1990s. After showing early promise in his career, his reputation and his performance nosedived following a number of doping allegations and drug busts. On one occasion in 2002, after police found doping products in his house, he famously claimed that they were for his dog. In spite of this, he has retained a fanatical following among some Belgian cycling fans.
