Yosif Kuchvalsky (born 1913), a Russian veteran of World War II (WW2).."I come from a good family from White Russia. My grandfather was a colonel in the Tsar's army. After the Communists seized power, our family was sent to a labour camp in Archangelsk. My mother had already fled to her brother's in Moscow. In 1937 she was found and shot. My father and I managed to escape from the camp after two attempts."."When war broke out, I suppressed my negative feelings for the Communist regime. I chose to fight for my fatherland. I wasn't fighting for Stalin. It's Stalin's fault that millions of Russian soldiers were killed. He had all the talented senior officers executed, so the army wasn't run properly. Stalin didn't win the war, the people did."... CHECK with MRM/FNA
