Sailo and Adele Paepaega, proprietors of Faofao Beach Fales, a tourist resort at Saleapaga Lepa on the Southern coast, at the hospital in Apia. Sailo felt the earthquake and knew to check the seawater for signs of a tsunami. He shouted to his guests to run, and managed to save everybody, including his wife and son. The resort however was completely destroyed, and Sailo is suffering from broken ribs, cuts and scatches, and the effects of seawater in the lungs. More than 170 people died when a tsunami triggered by an 8.3 magnitude earthquake hit Samoa and neighbouring Pacific islands on 29/09/2009. Samoa (formerly known as Western Samoa)..
