A wild condor is held by its wings with a flag of a bull attached to it as it is paraded around the village during the Yawar Fiesta in Coyllurqui in the Peruvian Andes on Independence Day. This celebration symbolises the clash between the indigenous people (represented by the condor) and the Spanish (represented by a bull). The condor is paraded around town, strapped on top of the bull, given alcohol, and finally set free.
