Muslims doing 'wudu' (Islamic ablution ritual) near the former Grand Hotel's mosque, which was rebuilt from the remains of the hotel's swimming pool changing rooms. Once a luxury destination for the wealthy and the continent's biggest hotel, the building is now a concrete shell and home to about 6,000 squatters. Those unable to occupy one of the rooms sleep in the corridors, basements and even on the roof of the building.
