Physicist Igor Bolshinsky and project leader Kelly Cummins inspect a cask containing highly enriched uranium (HEU) at the Institute of Nuclear Physics in Almaty. Bolshinsky points at an IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) seal that verifies the authenticity of the nuclear shipment. The removal of Kazakhstan's HEU is part of the U.S. Global Threat Reduction Initiative (GTRI), where Bolshinsky and Cummins work, which tries to secure nuclear material around the world to prevent their misuse.
