A soldier with the Afghan National Army is transported from an ISAF base to a Kabul military hospital for further care...Kabul Ambulance Service (KAS) is the first such service in Afghanistan. In a country where anyone sick or injured usually is transported to the doctor, or hospital, by taxi, on foot or even on the back of a mule, helped by relatives, an ambulance service equipped with 4WD Landcruisers and nurses is a huge improvement. KAS is currently serving a population of over 4 million people with less than 15 ambulances. © Fredrik Naumann
