The town of Kesennuma, almost totally destroyed by the earthquake and Tsunami. Ships have been swept ashore by the huge Tsunami that followed the earthquake. On 11 March 2011 a magnitude 9 earthquake struck 130 km off the coast of Northern Japan causing a massive Tsunami that swept across the coast of Northern Honshu. The earthquake and tsunami caused extensive damage and loss of life...Totally devastated area of Kinennuma. 323 people are dead and 19021 people are evacuated from Kesennuma (according to Mainichi newspaper on the 18th).
