One year old Hazuki is tested for radioactive contamination at a health centre in Yamagata. Her family were living 25kms from the Fukushima nuclear power plant damaged by the 11 March earthquake and Tsunami. They were evacuated to Yamagata some 98kms from Fukushima. On 11 March 2011 a magnitude 9 earthquake struck 130 km off the coast of Northern Japan causing a massive Tsunami that swept across the coast of Northern Honshu. The earthquake and tsunami caused extensive damage and loss of life and damaged reactors at the Fukushima nuclear power plant.
