28 year old Bambang and his 23 year old wife Tuti scavenge for bricks, ceramic tiles and any items of value from their former home in the wreckage of Kedung Bendoh village. Trucks cresting the top of the earthen dam holding back the mud can be seen behind them. Since May 2006, more than 10,000 people in the Porong subdistrict of Sidoarjo have been displaced by hot mud flowing from a natural gas well that was being drilled by the oil company Lapindo Brantas. The torrent of mud - up to 125,000 cubic metres per day - continued to flow three years later.
