55 year old Toyib scavenges for bricks, ceramic tiles and any items of value from his former home in the wreckage of Kedung Bendoh village. Since May 2006, more than 10,000 people in the Porong subdistrict of Sidoarjo have been displaced by hot mud flowing from a natural gas well that was being drilled by the oil company Lapindo Brantas. The torrent of mud - up to 125,000 cubic metres per day - continued to flow three years later.
