Two Danish soldiers who are stationed at Mestervig wave farewell to visitors. Mestersvig is a military outpost with a runaway in the Scoresby Land region of the Northeast Greenland National Park. Originally built in anticipation of mining in the area it has been run by the Danish defence department since 1988. The place is staffed by two men whose duties include maintenance of buildings and the airfield and support of other activities in the area.
