The restored facade of the New Synagogue which was once the religious centre for Berlin's Jewish community. It was gutted by fire during the infamous Nazi Kristallnacht in 1938 and the remaining shell was destroyed in an air raid in 1938. It now houses an exhibition on Jewish life in Berlin..
