When Cyclone Nargis hit the Irrawaddy Delta on 02/05/2008, all 13 year old Si Thu Aung could carry was a fire stove and pot. "I wanted my toy, but my mother insisted on these. She asked me to take the pots and run as fast as I could." Si Thu Aung lives with his mother alongside other refugees from the 7th ward, Hlaingthaya township in Rangoon (Yangon), in the Shwe Than Lwin shopping complex, which is under construction and has acted as a small refugee centre.
