Recently returned from growing up as a refugee in Iran, 11-year-old Sedika weaves carpets for the family business near Bamiyan, Aghanistan on June 28, 2002. Many Afghan children are forced by poverty to work rather than go to school. More than six million people fled Afghanistan during the years of conflict following the Soviet invasion in 1979.
