Mohammed Myir (40) has an atelier off Saddoun street. The painter, born in Basra, witnessed the opening of the mass graves near his home town after the fall of Saddam Hussein's regime. His paintings of the horrors he saw reflect the traumatic impact the discovery of the graves has had on ordinary Iraqis.
