Elmira Ishmuratova shows Jubilee medals her father received (on the photo in the middle) for his service in World War II. She was 4 years old when her family was deported to Uzbekistan. Her father was in the Red Army fighting the Germans and when he returned in 1946 he was told that his family had been deported to Uzbekistan. In 1997, Ishmuratova's family wanted to return Crimea, but they were not allowed so they settled in the village of Novoalekseyevka in the Kherson region of Ukraine close to the border with Crimea.
