Palanquins bearing various temple gods are transported to the beach at Baisha Port, the culmination of a festival, that takes place every third year, honouring the island's gods. During the previous week a huge model boat was carried, in procession, around the island and now the boat is to be burned in front of a crowd many of whom have come from the main island or even from overseas.
